What's included in our plumbing fixture installation in Oklahoma City

We install and replace the fixtures in kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms, in homes and businesses:

  • Faucets for kitchen, bathroom, bar, laundry and utility sinks
  • Toilets, including comfort-height and water-saving models
  • Sinks and vanity tops, with new drains, traps and supply lines
  • Shower and tub valves, trim kits, tub spouts and showerheads, including hand-held units
  • Laundry and utility sinks, washer boxes and hose connections
  • New shutoff valves on every fixture we touch

Signs it is time to replace a fixture

  • A faucet you have repaired more than once, or one whose parts are no longer made
  • A shower that turns scalding or icy when someone flushes
  • Corroded or flaking finishes, or a cracked sink or toilet
  • An old toilet that clogs often or uses far more water than newer models
  • A remodel that changes the layout or style of the room

Water-saving fixtures compared

The plumbing code sets the maximum flow for new fixtures, and EPA WaterSense labels the ones that do better.

FixtureCode maximumWaterSense level
Toilet1.6 gallons per flush1.28 gallons per flush or less
Showerhead2.5 gallons per minute at 80 psi2.0 gallons per minute or less
Bathroom faucet2.2 gallons per minute at 60 psi1.5 gallons per minute or less

Kitchen sink faucets share the same 2.2 gallons per minute code maximum. According to EPA, showering accounts for nearly 17 percent of indoor water use at home, and a WaterSense bathroom faucet or aerator can save the average family 700 gallons a year. Good low-flow fixtures today feel very different from the weak ones of years past.

Shower and tub valve replacement

The valve behind the shower handle does the real work, and it is the fixture most often left in place too long. The plumbing code Oklahoma uses requires individual shower and tub-shower valves to be balanced-pressure, thermostatic or combination valves, installed with a limit that can be set no higher than 120°F. Bathtub fill water must also be limited to 120°F. Older bathrooms often still have two- or three-handle valves with no scald protection at all.

Replacing a valve usually means opening the wall behind it. We work from an access panel in a closet when the layout allows, or cut a tidy opening on the tile side when it does not, and we match the new valve to the trim you choose so the handle, spout and showerhead work together.

Toilets, sinks and vanities

Placement matters as much as the fixture. Code requires a toilet or lavatory to sit at least 15 inches from its center to a side wall, with at least 21 inches of clear space in front. We check that before you commit to a new vanity or a larger toilet. For toilet swaps, our toilet repair and installation service covers flanges, seals and stuck valves. For a single dripping faucet that just needs parts, faucet and sink repair may save you a replacement. A new kitchen sink is also a good time to upgrade the garbage disposal and its connections.

Our fixture installation process

  1. Confirm the fit. We check rough-in measurements, valve type and sink holes against the fixture you want.
  2. Protect the space. Drop cloths, covered countertops and a clear path in and out.
  3. Remove the old fixture and inspect the supply valves, drain and flange.
  4. Install with new parts. New supply lines, seals and shutoff valves as needed.
  5. Test. Full hot and cold flow, drain tests, and a leak check of every connection.
  6. Clean up and haul away the old fixture if you want it gone.

Laundry, utility and garage fixtures

The fixtures nobody shows off are often the ones that cause the worst leaks. Washing machine connections sit behind the machine where a slow drip can rot the floor for months. We replace old valve pairs with a recessed washer box that has its own shutoffs and a properly sized drain, and we swap rubber fill hoses for braided ones. Utility sinks in garages and laundry rooms get new faucets, traps and, where needed, a fresh supply line run from the nearest pipe. If your washer is being moved to a new room, we can extend the supply and drain to reach it.

Accessible and specialty fixtures

For aging in place or a family member with limited mobility, small changes help: a comfort-height toilet, lever handles instead of knobs, a hand-held shower on a slide bar, and valves placed where they can be reached from outside the spray. If the wall is already open for a valve swap, that is also the cheapest moment to add solid blocking for future grab bars. For a bigger change, walk-in tub plumbing installation handles the supply, drain and water heater demands those tubs bring.

What affects the cost of fixture installation

  • The fixture. Your choice of model is the biggest variable, and you can supply it yourself.
  • What is behind the wall. Shower valve replacements depend on access and tile.
  • Condition of the old plumbing. Corroded stubs, stuck valves or a bad flange add work.
  • How many fixtures. Several in one visit is more efficient than one at a time.

We price the actual job after we see it, and financing is available for larger remodels.

Fixture installation in Oklahoma City homes

Older homes here often have galvanized pipe stubs behind the fixtures, and they can crack or shed rust when disturbed, so we come ready to replace a stub if needed. In slab homes, the drains are set in concrete, which limits how far a toilet or tub can move during a remodel without breaking the floor. We will tell you what is practical before you fall in love with a new layout. And because so many fixture jobs uncover an old valve or a corroded trap, we keep common repair parts on hand so a surprise does not stall the project for another day. Why Oklahoma City chooses us for fixture installation

Since 1985

We check the rough-in first

A fixture that does not match the plumbing behind the wall turns a quick swap into a day of surprises. Our plumbing experience goes back to 1985, and we know what hides behind Oklahoma City walls, from galvanized pipe stubs to old three-handle shower valves. We check the rough-in before you buy, so the faucet, toilet or valve you pick actually fits.

Licensed

Shower valves set to code

Shower and tub valves are where fixture work meets safety. The plumbing code Oklahoma uses requires anti-scald protection on shower valves, with the limit set no higher than 120°F. Our licensed plumbers install and adjust those valves correctly, and when a job needs a permit, we pull it and schedule the inspection. We are licensed and insured, so the work is done by people accountable for it.

Mr. Robert has amazing customer service and work ethic. He fixed our toilet very quickly and explained everything that he was doing, and even showed us the finished product. Awesome work!

These guys were great! A breath of fresh air from the usual contractor/service. They cared about fixing the problem not how much they can charge. I had a same day service need, leak in between floors, the day before a trip. They came out same day and presented multiple solutions as well as keen explanations.

After having issues with my bathroom and kitchen plumbing for a few days, I contacted Plumber Oklahoma City, OK Plumbing & Repair this morning. He told me he was very busy, but would work to schedule our repair in with his team.

Fixture Installation questions, answered

Can I buy my own fixtures and have you install them?

Yes. Many customers pick out a faucet, toilet or showerhead themselves, and we install it. Before you buy, send us the model or a photo of your current setup so we can confirm it fits your rough-in, valve and sink holes. If a part is missing or the fixture will not work with your plumbing, we tell you before we start.

Do new shower valves have to be anti-scald?

Yes. The plumbing code Oklahoma uses requires individual shower and tub-shower valves to be pressure-balancing, thermostatic or a combination of the two, with a limit that can be set no higher than 120°F. When we replace an old two- or three-handle valve, the new one protects against a sudden blast of hot water when someone flushes a toilet.

Which fixtures save the most water?

Toilets lead the list. EPA WaterSense says toilets account for nearly 30 percent of indoor water use, and labeled models use 1.28 gallons per flush or less. WaterSense showerheads use no more than 2.0 gallons per minute and can save the average family 2,700 gallons a year. Bathroom faucet aerators are the cheapest upgrade of all.

Will a new faucet fit my old sink?

Usually, if the number and spacing of the holes match. A single-hole faucet can often cover a three-hole sink with a deck plate, but a widespread faucet needs holes spaced to fit. We check the sink, the shutoff valves and the supply connections before installing, and we will tell you if a corroded drain is worth replacing at the same time.

Should I replace the shutoff valves when I replace a fixture?

It is the smart time to do it. The plumbing code Oklahoma uses requires a shutoff on the supply to each fixture other than tubs and showers, and old multi-turn valves often leak or seize once they are disturbed. Swapping them for quarter-turn valves while the fixture is out costs little because the access is already open.
