Tankless Water Heater Installation & Repair in Yukon, OK

A good tankless water heater in Yukon starts with a question most installers skip: can the gas line in a house built around 1979 actually feed it? We size the gas supply and venting before anything goes on the wall, install under a City of Yukon permit, and keep existing units running with flushing and descaling suited to the city's blended water.

Is your Yukon house ready for tankless?

Yukon's population jumped from 3,076 in 1960 to 17,112 in 1980, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society, and Census estimates put the median year built for the city's housing at 1979. The gas piping in those homes was sized for the appliances of the day, usually a tank water heater, a furnace and maybe a range. A tankless heater fires only when you run hot water, but when it does, it can call for a lot more gas than the old tank ever did.

If the pipe can't deliver that gas, the unit starves at peak demand: temperatures swing in the shower, or the heater throws a fault when two fixtures run at once. So we start every tankless estimate by tracing the gas line back to the meter, adding up the load on it, and checking the pipe size against what the new unit needs. Three things decide whether your house is ready:

  • Gas supply. Pipe size and length from the meter, plus every other gas appliance on that line.
  • Venting route. Most units vent through a side wall or the roof with their own approved vent pipe. The old metal flue usually can't be reused.
  • Power and drain. An outlet near the unit, and a place to drain condensate on high-efficiency models.

Permitted gas work in Yukon

When the gas line needs upsizing, that is regulated work. The City of Yukon's residential plumbing permit schedule lists gas extensions with a test, gas pressure tests and gas vent replacement as separate permit items, and the city's plumbing inspection categories include gas and water heaters. We pull the permit, pressure test the new piping, and schedule the inspection so your installation is documented and safe.

Tankless water heater flushing and descaling with Yukon water

Two sources feed Yukon's mains: groundwater from city wells and treated water purchased from Oklahoma City. The EPA's case study on Yukon's system describes the ratio of purchased water being reviewed and adjusted daily. Whatever the mix, any minerals in the water collect on the heat exchanger inside a tankless unit, where scale cuts efficiency and can trigger error codes and shorten the unit's life.

Descaling clears that buildup. We isolate the unit with its service valves, circulate a descaling solution through the heat exchanger, flush it clean, and clean the inlet filter screen. If your unit was installed without service valves, we can add them so future flushing is quick. If you're weighing a softener or a scale-reduction filter, we can test your water first.

Common tankless repair calls

  • Error codes for ignition or flame failure, often tied to gas supply or venting

  • No hot water at low flow, such as a single bathroom sink
  • Scale warnings or reduced flow through the unit
  • Freeze damage on units in garages or on exterior walls after a hard cold snap

How we install a tankless water heater

  1. Size the load. We count your fixtures, estimate peak flow and check incoming water temperature to pick the right unit.
  2. Check gas and venting. We measure the gas line, plan the vent route and note any upgrades needed.
  3. Permit and install. We file the permit, mount the unit, run gas, water and venting, and add service valves.
  4. Test and inspect. We pressure test the gas line, fire the unit at full demand and schedule the city inspection.

Local, licensed and insured

Why Yukon calls us for tankless water heaters

Licensed

Gas piping checked before the sale

A tankless unit can need far more gas than the tank it replaces. Our licensed team measures the existing gas piping and load before recommending a unit. If the line needs to be upsized, the City of Yukon lists gas extensions with a pressure test on its permit schedule, and we handle that work and inspection the right way. You get a clear answer on gas capacity before you spend anything on a unit.

Since 1985

Service for units already on the wall

A tankless heater that is already on the wall needs regular care to keep running well. With experience going back to 1985, we diagnose error codes, flame failures, fluctuating temperatures and scale buildup across the major brands. We flush and descale on a schedule that fits your water and household use rather than a one-size rule, and we tell you what we see inside the unit.

24/7

Help when hot water stops

A tankless unit that throws a code on a Saturday night leaves you with no hot water at all. We answer 24/7, walk you through a reset if that is all it needs, and come out when it isn't. If a new installation or a gas line upgrade makes sense for your household, financing is available to spread the cost over time.

These guys were great! A breath of fresh air from the usual contractor/service. They cared about fixing the problem not how much they can charge. I had a same day service need, leak in between floors, the day before a trip. They came out same day and presented multiple solutions as well as keen explanations.

Tankless Water Heaters in Yukon: common questions

How often should a tankless heater be descaled in Yukon?

It depends on the mineral content of your water and how much hot water you use. Yukon mixes groundwater from its own wells with purchased Oklahoma City water, and the mix can change, so we suggest testing at your own tap. Many homes do well with an annual flush. Heavy use or harder water can call for more often.

Will a gas tankless water heater work during a power outage?

Generally, no. Gas tankless units still need electricity to run their controls, fan and igniter, so they stop when the power goes out. That also matters in a hard freeze, since built-in freeze protection on many units depends on power. If you lose power in freezing weather, ask us how to drain your unit to protect it.
